Skill Builder at Montclaire (Grades 1-5)

Service Description

For children who love to build, invent, experiment, and figure things out. Skill Builder program is built around SkillFire from Destination Imagination (DI), an established organization focused on helping young people develop creativity and innovation through creative problem-solving and team-based challenges. Students take on open-ended STEAM and engineering challenges where there often isn't one obvious answer. They learn to Brainstorm → Build → Test → Learn → Redesign → Present, and work effectively as a team. Rather than following step-by-step instructions toward a predetermined result, students have to decide what to build, which approach might work, why something failed, and what they should change next. Along the way, they develop: Creativity · Critical Thinking · Collaboration · Communication · Engineering Design · Confidence Most importantly, students become more comfortable approaching problems they have never seen before and figuring out how to move forward.
